can we not hold up “you’re oppressing yourself!!!” as a TOTALLY HILARIOUS COOL THING THAT KORRA SAID? what i’m hoping for here is a storyline that treats this division between benders and non-benders respectfully and carefully, not LMAO DEM CRAY CRAY NON-BENDERS, because “you’re oppressing yourself” is actually an awful thing to say, and i love it IF they are presenting korra as a brash, headstrong girl with a lot to learn (which. they are, apparently. good.)

another thing that really bothered me was a “fresh off the boat” joke someone made about korra

but yea, im excited about the social aspect and the oppression stuff, but idk, im so far giving it the side eye. because, with the previews, it looks like its someone taking advantage of the situation and non benders to further some ~evil agenda

because it’s been 70 years since last air bender. korra is a teenager. katara is still alive even though she was older than aang. so he died relatively young then? or is katara just really old? how old is tenzin?
